Update

More than a week has passed since the last update and many things have happened..or changed, rather?

Well, my parents are back in Singapore, my niece popped out a couple of days ago, I've re-started on Japanese language lessons, and I'm still trying to find the best lecturing style.

More on each. :)

My parents..don't know whether to laugh or cry when I received an sms from my dad the day they were supposed to fly back. They...they...had missed their flight!! =_=; So they had to catch the next available flight, the midnight flight, back to Singapore. Then the midnight flight was delayed in the end.. by almost 2 hrs...so all in all my parents were REALLY tired by the time they reached home.

Every time my parents come back to Singapore, I can be sure to hear lots of "interesting" stories about their latest stay in China. This time, though, things really went out of hand. See, it's wintertime but the place that my parents were put up at was totally unsuitable for living during winter. Things got so bad, one day the place just flooded because of some lousy piping! They even had to call in the police to fix the mess! It was sorta funny cos over the X'mas weekend my uncle visited my parents there and so my parents told them about this flooding incident. But when my uncle came back and related the story to an aunt, he cut short the story and just muttered something about "yeah the police went to their house"... and my aunt thought my parents ended up at the police station for something. :_)

Anyway, I'm all for dad retiring to chess-dom (my dad's a chess fanatic), but seems like he's quite adamant about continuing with working. Sigh.. I guess I can only hope that conditions get better in March when he'll have to fly there again. My mum's nursing a pain in her legs so I'm not sure if she'll take off with him the next time. I'm 2 minds about it.. on one hand, I'd prefer if my parents are together. On the other hand, my mum's legs are hurting quite a bit.

Wish I could do more to help them.

Well, the good news is, my parents arrived back just in time to see the birth of their first grandchild! Child's not mine, of course, it's my brother's. Still nameless..(the child, not my brother).. so don't really know what to call her in the meantime... I just hope my brother doesn't end up calling her Jackie (after Jackie Chan, who's like his hero) *_*; Or worse still, "Lin Feng ***[<--insert my sirname]". I noticed she has slightly wavy hair, so chances are she'll grow up to have naturally curly hair like me. Oh great. We can go for rebonding together next time and get those 2-for-1 deals! hahaha, kidding lah.

Her chinese name is "佳彤", affectionately called "小佳彤" now~ ^^ Hmm...suppose we can also call her either "佳佳" or "彤彤" (same name as faye's daughter?!)

Poor girl, she has to wear a hip brace like 24h for a few months for now, cos the doc says her thigh bones are weak. It's so uncomfortable, cos now her legs are forced to be stretched out like this *flashes inverted v-sign*
