Special Week ~~~ After-Live effects
Watching a live really does change things.. now when I listen to [Kuchiki no tou] the album, images of the band playing it live come into focus without fail.. that happens with every single track (except track 1!), even [2.07], with Satochi hammering away and Miya crouching over, strumming his strings.
These are the memories that I'll have to survive with till the next live!!! :_O Am aiming to watch mucc again within a year... Just received my lecturing timetable for 1st half 2005, and instead of looking out for which modules I would be teaching, I was more concerned with which were the dates that I would be able to take long leave! XD Well, from the looks of it, besides Chinese New Year (which would be too soon - need to save up!), the only possible dates are from late May till end June.. hope mucc will have live dates during that period! Otherwise, it might be .. gulp.. December next year, cos I know my lecturing timetable will become quite heavy from July onwards. Will I be able to maintain my sanity till then??!
In the meantime, I'm 're-fueling' with the CDs and magazines that I bought during this trip.. [痛絕]first press surprised me! Quite markedly different from the other presses! Would recommend listening to all the versions, if only to get an idea of the different 佺釋方式. The [79] magazines are a good read too.. they measured the [79] bands' blood pressures, and Miya's was the highest at 169-104~~isn't that really rather high?? No, it's way high!! Did they measure this prior to a live?? Worrying ne~
Looking into the near future, the Asian Beat finals are taking place on Dec 4 at Sentosa. Anyone interested to go watch? GeneXis got into the finals. I stumbled upon the drummer's online diary and found it quite a good read, especially as he detailed his technical frustrations and emotional ups-and-downs when he went through the heats and semi-finals (sometimes as listeners we forget the hard work that goes behind reaching that next level of technical competence). They're one of the few visual kei-influenced bands in Singapore that show more potential, I'd like to go hear them during the finals to see what they will come up with.

hehehe...another one to chk out - lzefier
(this was the reason why i was even following singapore's ridiculous idols...if u know what i mean.)
Oooooooooooooh...talking about this has me all up in flames!!!
Why TF did he choose to sing those 2 songs last night?? Ok, i know, it's a different market for votes that they're catering to. But in the first place, then why enter such a competition? This is just a GD glamourized singing competition, for goodness sake. Or perhaps the band has a longer-term game plan in mind? Otherwise it's all just gonna end up like what Dick smart-s$$ Lee said about how he will definitely 'make it' in the Chinese music market. A reprise of Yida.
I also resent how the judges were talking knowingly about the "Chinese music market". The Chinese music scene is in part what the musicians make it out to be - if they have the courage to do so. I really detest people like these judgest, who are in somewhat a position of power and assume they know what the market is all about, and therefore only have a fixed idea of what to push out, be it the songs or artistes that they produce. At this rate, the scene will never progress beyond what the record company mongrels have in mind. (I know this is present in every market, but I feel that it is most apparent in the Chinese music scene.) Which goes back to the point about needing people with the courage to push out something new. I don't believe there is not at least a sufficient market in the whole Chinese speaking community to not be able to absorb some of these bands, especially since so many are currently looking towards other places like the Japanese indies scene to fill that gap.
*Stops for breath*...forgive the outburst...*checks my blood pressure...(probably at Miya's level right now)*
It has suddenly occurred to me that I know which comments are from who without even the commentor signing off :D :D :D
So, bh, want to go on 4 Dec? :)

BH DESUUUUUUU!!!!! bingo bingo bingo.....
yaboy....i almost fainted too. i was like.....DUH-----
and the judges' comments ----more DUH----- i seriously think i could have done a better job...(breaks out in hilarious laughter....) I would have just offered the entire contract to lzefier....
the only thing good out of this episode is that the band has got more publicity than anything else. suddenly, everyone knew the band when previously less than 20 turned up at their lives.(no need money type some more)
darn....but the band's CD release is delayed coz of the silly idol contract.
he just doesn't make it without the band behind him la. and the crap from the judges on how he needs to move out of the rock genre and show sthg new...to hell with it. just stick to rock....ultimately tats what got him into the contest anyway
now...he looks like a boyband wannebe. just perfect those dance moves and he has completed the 5x6x transformation liao. IRRITATING!
uuuuurgh.....
